A veteran university economist and the governor who presided over the oil boom and bust of the 1980s warn legislators against cutting tax rates in the expectation that the latest oil and gas boom will continue.
Republican House Speaker Todd Hiett demands a cut in the state income tax. Senate Democrats, headed by President Pro Tem Mike Morgan, refuse to cut rates. Gov. Brad Henry proposed a tax cut smaller than Hiett's. Read More...
